The Splashteam wishes you a Happy New Year! For this first devlog of 2025, we're giving you a closer look at some gameplay features and a brand-new location!

The dungeons of Acornia are filled with enemies and traps, but we know that some of you are always looking for even more action. Fear not, we've got something special for the most battle-hardened among you: the masters of melee, the brawling pros, the kings and queens of combat! Introducing the new arena system.

Once you step into an arena, a battle against powerful enemies begins. Each arena has a unique layout of walls and obstacles, creating a different challenge for every fight. And of course, that big chest isn’t just for show. Emerge victorious, and you'll walk away with a well-earned reward!

We hope the arenas will allow each player to freely choose their own level of difficulty and risk.

Crafting is a core part of Acornia, whether it is to create delicious recipes or build beautiful furniture. To craft something, Alva needs to have the recipe. Then, she must interact with the corresponding module. Modules automatically draw from Alva’s inventory and storage. Convenient!

There are many modules, such as the oven module or the robot module. The first one is used to bake cakes, while the second is for making dough.

The quest for new modules is essential. Without them, many recipes remain out of reach. Plus, the modules you already own can be upgraded. There is even a seasoning module that adds bonus effects to pastries!

The museum is the true sanctuary of knowledge in Acornia. Its role is to preserve the wisdom of the Tree and Alva’s collections.

The most observant among you might have an idea of the treasures it holds. But where did those golden wings on the dome come from? We asked Mayor Drana, but she has no recollection of them. Strange...

While we wait to unravel this mystery, here is a glimpse of one of the many musical variations inside the museum.

Corin is Lyra & Alva's younger brother. Having grown up in the Tree during a more turbulent time, he does not have fond memories of it. He works with Ignace at a bank in the Capital, enjoying the delicious coffee served there.

Definitely the most serious of the siblings, he never misses an appointment and is always punctual, thanks to the precious pocket watch his father gave him.

We're thrilled to welcome Alain to the team as a programmer. He previously worked with us on Tinykin and, before that, released his own game, BAFL (still available!).

Right now, he's primarily focused on the cooking system and modules, but his expertise will soon be put to use on other projects as well.

That's all for January!

2025 is going to be a big year for Acornia and for us, so thank you for being part of this adventure.
